PayAnywhere is proud to announce the sponsorship of two models at the 2014 Bras for a Cause event at the Royal Oak Music Theater. PayAnywhere’s models, Lisa Hanes and Wendy Salow, will be taking part in the evening’s runway show. In addition to the runway, there will be live and silent auctions, live music and a variety of food from local restaurants.
The unique thing about this event is that the models are all breast cancer survivors. Hanes, a 43-year-old mother of two, was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2009 and is celebrating 5 years of being cancer free this year.
“I feel truly blessed to have been given this gift,” Hanes said. “Preventative care, early treatment and a positive outlook are part of what got me through this adventure. But what truly saved me was all of the love and support of my husband Bill, children Bryan and Madaline and my family and friends! Without each of them, it would have been harder to: see the sunny side of things, to laugh and to know that I was loved.”
Salow is also happy to be celebrating 5 years of being cancer free. She was originally diagnosed when she was 38.
“I had a one year old daughter Madison, and I was about to face the most terrifying moment in my life, I had a baby to raise,” Salow said. “…I am thankful everyday for my family and friends. Today I help bring awareness to this awful disease and try to help any women faced with cancer find hope and encouragement.”
Join us in cheering on Hanes and Salow, and celebrating their stories of survival.
The event runs 6-10 p.m. and tickets cost $55 the day of the show. All proceeds from the event are donated to Gilda’s Club Metro Detroit. For more information, visit www.brasforacausemichigan.com.
