PayAnywhere mobile payment platform now available for third-party developers

TROY, Mich., Dec. 19, 2011 — North American Bancard (NAB), an industry leader in credit card processing, today released the PayAnywhere Software Development Kit (SDK) to developers interested in mobile payment solutions.

PayAnywhere is a free app and credit card reader that enables users to accept credit card payments on their Apple or Android devices. Considering its success in the mobile payments landscape, North American Bancard is releasing the PayAnywhere SDK for Apple iOS, with Android coming soon.

The PayAnywhere SDK is currently free and open to third-party developers who would like to use the PayAnywhere mobile payment platform within their own applications. North American Bancard is offering a Basic and Advanced version of the SDK.

PayAnywhere SDK – Basic is a “plug and pay” API option that requires minimal effort of the developer to implement into an existing application. Using the basic version, a developer can call the PayAnywhere API to handle the processing of a credit card transaction. The developer’s existing app handles the amount and itemization of the transaction, and then passes the information onto PayAnywhere through the API to actually complete the transaction.

Developers looking for more customization and flexibility can create an application using PayAnywhere SDK – Advanced. With the advanced version, all essential PayAnywhere functionalities are available, but no PayAnywhere branding is present. Developers can create an entirely custom application and seamlessly integrate PayAnywhere. During a transaction, the focus remains on the developer’s app, as the PayAnywhere library is used to handle the processing of the transaction.

The PayAnywhere SDK, along with the credit card reader, provides the opportunity for a developer to integrate a cost-efficient and secure payment interface into their application. Developers can rely on the security of the PayAnywhere system, which adheres to the strictest standards of PCI compliance, and ensures every transaction is encrypted. Additionally, PayAnywhere is backed by North American Bancard, an industry leader in credit card processing, which currently processes over $1 billion monthly for over 125,000 merchants nationwide.

Through the launch of the PayAnywhere SDK, NAB is strengthening its commitment to providing its clients with new and innovative technology for the payments industry.

“Our goal in making the PayAnywhere SDK available is enable developers to create apps that provide merchants with a smooth payment processing experience,” said Marc Gardner, NAB founder and president. “The PayAnywhere mobile payment platform comes with nearly 20 years of experience in credit card processing, and this allows developers the freedom and peace-of-mind to concentrate on what matters most to them – app development.”

Developers interested in the SDK are encouraged to contact PayAnywhere. For more information or to get started with PayAnywhere, email tmcweeney@payanywhere.com.
