Swiping tips
Here are a couple tips on the art of swiping. To get a good swipe, try to firmly and steadily swipe the card through the reader.

PayAnywhere Credit Card Reader

Make sure that the magnetic stripe of the credit card is facing the right direction. If you are using a case on your device, check to make sure the sleeve isn’t preventing the card reader from being plugged in all the way.

Swipe: Make sure that the magnetic stripe of the credit card is facing the right direction. If you are using a case on your device, check to make sure the sleeve isn’t preventing the card reader from being plugged in all the way.

EMV (Chip Card): If you are seeing the Apple Pay logo on the reader, insert the credit card so that chip is facing towards you.

NFC (Contactless): Your customer will hold their device near the reader. Holding a device too far from the reader may result in a failed connection.

PayAnywhere Storefront

Make sure that the magstripe of the credit card is facing the right direction. The magstripe should be facing down and away from you when swiping.

EMV (Chip Card): Insert or "dip" the card so that the chip is facing away from you and towards the customer.

Leave the card in place and turn your device towards your customer so that they can enter a tip amount, if applicable, and sign for their purchase.

Finally, when prompted to do so, remove the card.
