Eligible merchants can enable/disable the Edge program under Menu → Settings → Cash Discounting → Edge Program. The Edge program is Flat Rate Pricing (3.8461%) + Cash Discount (4%). These values cannot be changed.
- Merchants may also enable/disable the Edge program in Payments Hub under Business Settings → Payment Settings.
- Merchants (and their Sales Partner if they have one) will receive a confirmation email when they enable or disable the Edge program.
- After submitting your request and accepting the pricing, you will see a request is pending status on the Cash Discounting Screen. Once the pricing change has gone into effect, the status on the Cash Discounting screen will say "You are currently on the Edge program."
- Pricing and cash discounting changes cannot go into effect until all open transactions and batches are closed.
- If there is an open batch, changes go into effect the next business day.
- If there is not an open batch, changes go into effect the within 5-10 minutes.
- A merchant won't be able to disable the Edge program if they have no previous pricing plan to fall back on. These merchants will need to contact their Sales Partner or Customer Service to move off of the Edge program.
- Merchants currently using Cash Discounting cannot disable Cash Discounting or edit their amount, but have the option to upgrade to the Edge program.
Consult with your Sales Partner if you need to change your fixed amount/percentage or would like to participate in the Cash Discounting program.
- Cash discount helps you with making the same profit margins on non-cash payments as you do on cash payments.
- This does not apply to PIN Debit, EBT, Factor4 gift card, or split payment transactions.
- Be sure to inform your customers you have cash versus non-cash/credit prices.
If you enable the Edge program, you must display the signage provided. Download the Cash Discounting Signage here.
Cash Discounting Settings:
- Enable Per Transaction: This allows you to disable cash discounting per transaction if/when you don't want to apply the cash discounting amount to a transaction.
- Only Owners, Admins, and Managers can enable this setting and disable cash discounting on a transaction.
- Display Cash Price: The sales details screen will show both cash and credit (Retail) prices. This allows customers to more easily see the price difference between paying cash versus paying with a credit card.
- The setting is defaulted to ON, but can be disabled if you don't want to display both prices.
- Note: Displaying dual prices on your device does not change your obligation to display the proper signage in your store.
