PIN Debit and EBT are payment types that are enabled when you apply for a Payanywhere account. 

In the Payanywhere app, head to Settings → Payment Types to see if PIN Debit and EBT are toggled on. 

To accept PIN Debit: 

1. Check that PIN Debit is enabled under Payment Types in your Settings. 
2. Enter an amount or add items as needed. 
3. Select Debit and insert the debit card.
4. The customer will then enter their PIN number to complete the debit transaction.
   • If the transaction fails, remove the card prior to tapping Continue and attempting the transaction again.

To accept EBT: 

1. Provided you are eligible to accept EBT, check that EBT is enabled under Payment Types in your Settings.
2. Enter an amount or add items as needed.
   • Remember: Non EBT items should be added in a separate transaction.
3. Select EBT on the checkout screen.
4. Choose Cash Benefit or Food Benefit, depending on your business needs.
5. You can select Balance Inquiry if your customer would like to view and print their balance.
6. Swipe the card or manually key the card information in and have your customer enter their PIN.
7. Your customer’s receipt will display the benefit type and the customer’s remaining balance.

Accepting tips on PIN Debit transactions:

• Ensure Tips are enabled under Settings.
• You cannot adjust tips for PIN Debit transactions. Therefore, if Sign & Tip on Printed Receipt setting is enabled, you will need to add the tip on-screen prior to accepting the PIN Debit payment. 
• Select Debit payment method at the time of sale.
• Your customer may add a tip on-screen during the transaction process. The tip amount must first be selected before the PIN debit card is inserted.
• Follow the prompts to complete the transaction.
