Girl Scouts across America are in the midst of their busiest season of the year, cookie sales. The fun doesn't end once the pre-ordered cookies have been delivered. Girl Scouts can be found in front of grocery stores, malls, sporting events, and other highly frequented locations to sell off every last box of deliciousness.

In October, PayAnywhere announced the Girl Scouts of San Gorgonio Council, would be using the PayAnywhere reader for their upcoming cookie sales. Fast forward to this month and five additional councils have selected PayAnywhere as their mobile payments processor, including the San Diego Council, Colorado Council, Heartland Council in Kansas, Cactus Pine Council in Arizona and the Northern Illinois Council.

Collectively, the newest councils represented more than $50 million in cookie sales in 2012 and by adding a mobile credit card processing solution to their super sales arsenal, which already includes endless smiles and delicious cookies, the Girl Scouts are armed to boost sales and capture transactions from those with the "I don't have cash on me" excuse.

The PayAnywhere mobile credit card reader is a small accessory that plugs into the audio jack of smartphones and tablets, transforming them into mobile payment terminals that can swipe credit cards to securely process payments. Used together with the free PayAnywhere mobile app, the reader instantly transforms an iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, most Android smartphones or tablets or BlackBerry smartphones into a powerful mobile point of sale terminal.

With PayAnywhere, the newest councils will see an immediate and rewarding boost in revenue and can rest assure that their hard work has paid off.

So, if you're in the mood for a Thin Mint, Samosas or Tagalong, watch for the troops' signature green vests and simply swipe your debit or credit card to get your cookie fix!
